As operations manager, I strive to offer every customer a top-notch product. My role is to ensure that all processes and plans are effectively executed to deliver this top-notch product. In concrete terms, this means I'm responsible for keeping operations running smoothly in the slaughterhouse, production, transport, logistics, and warehouse departments.
Why Glenn works at Plukon
What makes my job so appealing is the enormous variety. No two days are the same.
Although it's a stressful job, I get enormous satisfaction from realizing plans.
The best part of my job, in my opinion, is that it offers insight into achieving Plukon's future plans, and I can contribute to this every day.
"If you're passionate about it and seize your opportunities, you can end up anywhere. The career opportunities at Plukon are enormous."

Glenn's workday
No workday is standard; it usually begins with a tour of all the departments. During this round, I check for order and cleanliness, safety, and the general start-up process. After this opening round, a quality control inspection of (retail) products is carried out with a focus group. We look at the cut, production method, quality, deviations, and presentation. This quality control is intended to safeguard our production process for our customers in terms of quality and service. This is followed by an operational meeting with the department heads, where we discuss the day's agenda and look ahead to the rest of the week. The rest of the day is filled with a wide variety of tasks. For example, I participate in project meetings and process improvements to increase efficiency and quality. I also address general issues that arise during the day and regularly consult with sales, planning, and the plant manager on operational and strategic topics.

How Glenn ended up at Plukon
At one point, I was looking for a new job and lived near Plukon Maasmechelen. I decided to look online to see what Plukon did. I then applied and approached Human Resources, saying, "I'd love to work here." Naturally, I didn't start in my current position right away. I started working on the conveyor belt in the shipping department. After that, I progressed to warehouse manager, then assistant logistics manager, and finally head of logistics. As you can see, the career opportunities at Plukon are enormous.
