I hold a dual role as plant controller for Plukon Mouscron and sales controller for Plukon Belgium. I'm responsible for the financial side of things at the Mouscron site and am part of the management team. This means I manage the accounting and finance departments and am responsible for financial reporting to the group.

Luuk's workday
Staying connected with the business is very important in a finance role.
I start my workday early in the morning with a cup of coffee. While enjoying my coffee, I have a short meeting with the Finance & Control team to discuss urgent ongoing matters. In the morning, I use my time to work on various projects: cost analyses, financial forecasts, updating KPIs, and preparing the periodic closings. Towards the end of the morning, I participate in the management meeting. Here, I share the status of the most important KPIs and provide a financial update to the other members of the management team. In the afternoon, I regularly visit the production department to stay involved in the business and, together with the Continuous Improvement department, explore efficiency improvements. I usually have other meetings scheduled throughout the day with external parties, such as banks, and contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
How Luuk ended up at Plukon
I joined Plukon through a recruitment agency. With a background in auditing, I gained a lot of experience there. Afterward, I wanted to move more towards hands-on finance. I didn't know Plukon, but after the conversation with the recruiter I immediately got a good feeling.
